ok... please pardon me, because i haven't seen this part in the video game for a few years, haha. i had to do it by memory, and ganondorf's jacket design is all screwed up.
this might sound sort of weird, but this one scene in Wind Waker really moved me because it gave me a feeling that Ganondorf wasn't entirely empty and SO sinister. just sitting there in the quiet and watching Zelda sleep was a really sweet thing for me to see, especially since every other time i saw ganondorf he was surrounded by darkness and sneering - you know, typical villainous things, haha. i've been wanting to draw something dedicated to that scene. yes, i know he didn't touch her hair or anything like what i drew (haha) but this was MEANT TO BE FOR VALENTINE'S DAY! So... here is my belated sweet piece for you guys... and myself thanks <3
yay lineless! i wanted to keep it pretty simple, but i struggled with the coloring part because i wasn't very sure what would make it too complicated or not enough, or just right... but, i think it turned out alright, haha.
i guess that's all i have to say for now... finally something to put in my gallery that i spent SOME decent time on. :S i hope you guys like it
Princess Zelda, Ganondorf @ Nintendo (Wind Waker) art by me!
((the fullview is really the full resolution, BTW, haha. big image))
Wow! This is really great! I love the lineless! Ganondorf's expression is really nice. I love the soft colors. This was a great scene. Ganondorf was so deep in WW. I will always have a crush on him!

I so know where you are coming from I loved that scene so much!I think the jacket is fine, in the game it looked like a face and it kinda freaked me out whenever his back was facing link o.O
But this is amazing and I think you did an amazing job!
Oh, I know what you mean. That scene (and the final cutscenes of the game) are some of my favorite in the entire Zelda series (but I'm a biased Ganondorf fangirl). You're right, there really was something sweet about the moment... I dunno. The way he was talking and looking at her, it was moar pity than hate, you know? (You know, pitying her for not realizing that they're all kinda doomed to replay what happens over and over and over.)
And this pic shows it! Everything seems very soft and peaceful for once. I like the little touch of his hand on her face. My only real critique is that Zelda's hands just kinda blend together. I know it's a no-lines thing, but it still looks a little odd. Maybe make them a little further apart or something? I'm not sure. Even still, it's a fantastic piece.

Ohh, yes, I see what you mean about her hands... I'll try to fix that right now. Thanks for pointing that out!
Boy I can't even remember the dialog from that scene, but I also think that if the soft look was anything, it was more a pitying one than anything else, lol.
Thanks for the fav and the great comment!

HAHA, honestly, he's the only video game character I've come to fancy so far, hahaha. Except for when he turns into a giant pig/fairy/dinosaur thing in OoT.... and I agree - he was much deeper in WW!! I get sort of upset whenever people bash the game just because its graphics are cartoon like, but I thought it was a great and big step out of the regular zelda realm and into something more depth to the characters and of course, a HUGE world! hehe.
thanks very much!!

I can't remember that scene, but your depiction of it sure looks neat. The colors look good. Now I'm remembering some other cool parts to the game...that underwater Hyrule thing was just plain cool. Lots of quirky and interesting characters, too..
I agree, I really liked the cel-shading in WW, too... This is sort of a side thought, but I was thinking that maybe I liked it because few of the Zelda games have had a "realistic" art style anyway. Just TP, OoT, and Majora's Mask could be called more realistic...at least OoT/MM were probably intended to be realistic, but they almost looked cel-shaded itself sometimes because of the polygons. And before OoT, all of the games were on the GameBoy, Super Nintendo, etc. and were 2D...

Nice job!! It's nice seeing a quality fanart product on deviantArt ;D
I've never played the game, but I love this picture...waaay sweet. I've always had a soft spot for the tough guys that have a caramel center (Ganondorf's must be REAL tiny, haha!!). It's such a cute concept. Facial expressions get me every time...we should watch Meet the Robinsons together so I can geek out with you about character expressions, there's so many cute ones in there I LURRV that movie...
And, there is positively no Meet the Robinsons fanart at all ;__;
